In Italy more than three quarters of the Italian countryside is hilly or mountainous and because of that, Italy can be a great place to ski when the Winter comes around.

Como in Northern Italy, is a nice and lively town.  It  has a wonderful lake named Lake Como.  In lake Como people use boats, steamers, and buses to travel around.
The Alpine area located in the north, has short cool summers along with long cold winters.  However, the Alps block the intense cold winds that may come from Northern Europe in the winter.

Although the winter may be intense in the northern part of Italy, the Summers are hot and dry in the far south.  There may be some heavy rainfall during Spring and Autumn, but  it does help fertilize the land on the Italian coastline.

La Torre di Pisa, or the Leaning Tower of Pisa, is the bell of the cathedral, in fact, it is the most remarkable bell towers in Europe!

 The Coliseum in Rome stands over 160 ft. high, with eighty entrances, and this huge building was able to hold more than 50,000 spectators.  The Coliseum was a sports arena that held gladiator fights, animal hunts and more.  

Il Duomo, meaning The Church, is the fourth largest cathedral in the world.  The dome on the Duomo can be seen from almost every point of the city of Florence.

The Po River is Italy's largest river, at 405 miles long.  This river provides very fertile land for about 16 million people that live near the Po.  The Po also nurtures rice fields, vine yards and provides an excellent fishing source.
